Rules for Jeux Sans Fromtieres

  • On average 7 or 8 teams take part from countries of Europe

  • The points were doubled when playing the one joker that each team had. So naturally teams would only use there joker on what they considered to be there best game.

  • Each team took place in an on-going event known as the "Marathon", where in the penultimate round the totals would be added up and added to the score,by then all teams would know how they stood in the "Fil Rouge" last game.

  • One team each round had to sit it out except on the final round when all teams took part in the "Fil Rouge".

  • The points are awarded as follows using our scoreboard as an example.

Below France have not taken part in the first game, Oldham had won "It's a Knockout" and thus the right to represent GB. No one has played there "J" joker. A study of the score board shows that a win is 6 pts, secound 5pts, then 4,3,2 &1 respectively, with points
being shared when a tie occurs.

scoreboard

  • After all rounds had been completed, the Marathon or Fil Rouge had been played, all jokers been played, then the Grand Total would show an outright winner.

Rules for IAK

  • Similar in many ways to JSF except only 3 local teams would compete from within Great Britain.
  • The points are awarded as follows using our scoreboard as an example.

Christchurch, Gosport and Winchester have all played each event with 3 points for a win, 2 points for 2nd and 1 point for last. With the Marathon added in and the last event played, the scoreboard shows Christchurch are the overall winners and thus go on to represent GB in Jeux sans Frontiere.
